"The Master Sergeant said just think of Sir as your
commanding officer's name. So I'm actually being friendly
when I say Sir after or before everything Suh-Max."
"Whatever you're comfortable with Beth. I'm not tight
about such things. I'm more interested in results than in
protocol."
"M-Max, if I can ask a question?"
"Sure, go ahead. You can ask me about anything in
private. One thing I do like to do is keep knowledge in the
right channels. I don't want chaos raining down because
unfettered, or worse, yet unproven news, is floating about."
"Yes Sir." she said casting her eyes down.
Max willed her to look up. "Your question Beth?"
"Yes. My question is this. I got certain looks
when I came into your camp. I was wondering if there was
something wrong. No one questioned my coming here although
I've never met any of the others before."
"I told them you were coming. However I guess I should
have told them about your uniform. It never crossed my
mind."
She looked up. "Uniform? I don't have one...
Oh I see. Should I acquire one? Private 1st
Class Riley didn't say anything to me about needing one.
He's been most helpful with everything. I only want
to do what's right and help fight the Coalition."
