attitude and the cold look that he bored right into her. He
was angry, very angry with her. She could see it in his
gaze. It was like daggers of ice plunged into her heart.
Her tail had drooped the lowest she could ever remember and
she had backed out of his tent afraid to let him see how much he
had affected her.
The world was the strangest she had ever seen it. It
was nothing like before and it was certainly nothing like home.
She had always been welcomed before. Always been at
the least ignored. A satyr was a welcome sight to most, at
least before. This was no world for a gentle fae like her.
This didn't seem like a world for fae at all. Yet
there were all manner of different people around.
The other male, the one with the tools and mechanical pieces,
had looked at her sort of dreamily but had scurried away when she
drew too near. She could feel the shyness coming off of him
in waves. He might eventually be worth the effort if things
with the Captain didn't pan out. She wondered if his rank
would make it inappropriate. The General had said it was up
to each of the males to decide for themselves, but how much would
they follow the General's lead, even if they knew what the
General's lead was.
