laughing. Finally R.C. told him, "Looks like you're got lucky.
G'lishi says that on the test run of the box it exploded.
He was inside that restaurant at the time and everything got
sprayed with red. This is the Spraying Box Mark II."
Meanwhile the others were looking at their presents from the
dragon. R.C. said softly to Chris, "I hope this thing isn't some
sort of cookie."
Chris was holding a large baked piece of earth with a strange
symbol crudely carved into it, the same as R.C. Chris responded,
"It's some sort of talisman at a guess. Or maybe considering his
size already it's some kind of crude amulet. It's not inert
whatever it is, but I don't believe that it's capable of anything.
A fair attempt I'd have to wager." To Max he said, "We may have to look at
tutoring him in magic sooner than I had imagined. You'd think
Nim would have left us a manual or something."
"No parent ever gets a manual," Max whispered. "Oh, looks
like he's starting to lose interest already. I think it's time
to give him his presents."
Chris nodded. Max spoke up, "G'lishi, this is a time of
year for giving, and when we give, we also receive. With that in
mind, we have some things for you."
Max turned around and climbed up into his Big Boss ATV.
While he got what he was after R.C. called G'lishi over.
He handed the dragon a square box that took him some effort to
lift. G'lishi sniffed at it and R.C. opened it. Inside of
the box were dozens upon dozens of small balls in several different
colours. R.C.
